About to build a model of the Gearing and in the process of surfing the web for information, I came across your Website. My brother was on the USS Keppler in the early 60's and I've been a naval history buff since childhood. Great site!

My grandfather was Herbert ?Mike? Norfolk. Thank you for keeping the memories of this ship alive. My 13 year old son, a current Sea Cadet and future Navy sailor, is very interested in his great grandfathers history. If anyone has any information to share, it would be greatly appreciated. We also have two of the heavy round painted plaques from the ship. I will share pictures later if I can.
