anyone remember the dock side collision with a new DE ahead of us while having her FRAM work completed in the Boston Naval Ship yard ? I was working under #4 mount back aft at the time as a yard shipfitter.

My memory's bad. I WASN'T the Gearing's CIC officer during the Solant Amity cruise. I was staff officer to Capt. Ebenezer Finley Porter, COMDESDIV 222. Did stand some CIC watches, though.
