I was one of the first increment that was assigned to the ship while it was being completed and was there when it was Commissioned. I has the privelege of being throttlemen on the shakedown cruise and I remember when the Quint torpedo tubes were taken off and Quad 40's installed in their place on the Superstructure deck after the shakedown.

Since leaving the "Gearing", I went to school at the U of Md. I have lived and worked in the Washington D.C. area. I currently live in Purcellville, Va. near the Blue Ridge Mtns. In July 1997, I re-entered the Government as an Electrical Engineer for National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA)located in the Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. after 16 years in private industry. I am currently married with two children.
